Dear Sportsmen,
Has it been one of your lifetime dreams to visit Canada's Arctic? To see caribou and Muskox up close... To take a walk on the Tundra... To drink pure, ice cold water right out of the lake... To be able to catch a trophy size Arctic Char or Lake Trout... and much, much more....
Dawn & Fred hamilton, owners & operators of "High Arctic Lodge" would like to help fulfill your dreams!!!
Once again another season has come and gone for us at High Arctic Lodge. Dawn and I had a wonderful time catching up with all our past guests again and to meet our new guests joining us for the first time in Canada's unspoiled frontier. We are offering you seven nights and six days of fishing, sightseeing and experiencing the true Arctic at our full service lodge, three hundred miles north of the Arctic Circle. All you need is your fishing or hunting gear, and your dreams!
Arctic Char and Lake Trout Fishing Trips
Each year we find new lakes and rivers to provide unparalleled fishing and this year was no exception. I stopped off at numerous spots on Victoria Island to fish both Lake Trout and Arctic Char. Red Belly lake lived up to it's reputaion again this year. We had many days of exciting fishing in the river mouth for nice big red belly char. The picture below is one of the monsters caught this summer.

Yellow Bill lake enthralled fly-fishermen and many days we had doubles and triples on line. Imagine the thrill of fly- fishing in totally virgin country.

All in all it was a wonderful fishing season. We are already looking forward to next summer.
Muskox and Caribou Hunting Trips
The prehistoric Muskox date back before the ice age and have to be one of the hardiest of animals in order to survive the harsh arctic winters, making them one of the most elite of north American animals to hunt. Our Muskox hunts begin on or near the 15th of August each year, after the last week of our regular fishing packages. This year we had 47 muskox hunters with five adding on an Arctic Island Caribou that were able to experience the best sport hunt in the arctic. The ever-increasing large numbers of Muskox on Victoria Island have allowed us to enjoy a success rate of 100% since we first began our hunts in 1995. We had five successful bow hunters this year and three black powder hunters. Our hunts for the 2008 season are almost entirely filled up so please hurry and book your hunt if you wish to join us. Most all of our hunts are carried out by boat on the Merkley Lake and Surrey Lake system. With over 400 miles of shoreline and thousands of Muskox in this area you are assured of an exciting hunt. Our hunts are all fully guided with very experienced Inuit guides, who know the area very well as most have been with us since we started offering hunts.
Limited Space each Year
We have a limited amount of space available for the upcoming 2008 Fishing & Hunting season. If it is your decision to join us for an Arctic Adventure please don't delay? To avoid disappointment, book early to ensure the week of your choice! As many of you will notice we have changed our pricing to Canadian Dollars to help us compensate for the falling US Dollar on the world market.
