Dear Sportsmen,

With fond memories of ur 2011 season still fresh n our minds, Dawn and I have begun planning for our 2012 fishing and hunting season. We had a lot of fun and were able to catch up with all our regular guests as well as meet some new friends joining us for the first time in Canada's unspoiled arctic. Our guests once again caught some absolutely awesome Arctic Char and Lake Trout and all our hunters filled thier Muskox and Caribou tags. Our fishing and hunting packages allow our guests to experience the wonders of the Arctic from our full service lodge, 300 miles north of the Arctic Circle. We offer our guests seven nights and six days of fishing, or three to four days of hunting. All you need is your fishing or hunting gear, and your dreams!

Arctic Char and Lake Trout Fishing Trips

Enjoy unparalled fishing in our lakes and rivers teaming with Arctic Char & Lake Trout. It's truly an experience that can't be beat! With hundreds of lakes and rivers to choose from each season we can assure that each day our guestds can enjoy the very best in Arctic |Fishing. Silver Char, beautiful Red Char and huge Lakers will keep you busy and leave you tired out at the end of the day. Many of our guests have brought thier wives, sons, daughters nieces, nephews and grandchildren with them, which is the best way to ensure the great tradition of fishing is passed on to future generations. What a thrill it is to see these youngsters hook-up and land some of our awesome fish, and what better way to enjoy the outdoors than with your family and friends.

If you are a fly-fisherman you will enjoy the exciting and hard fighting Arctic Char peeling out line well into your backing. Lake Trout in the Arctic are trmendously strong fighters and catching a big lunker near the surface on a fly line is definately an adrenaline rush.

If fishing is not your thing or you want a break from the rod and reel we can arrange for sightseeing tours and hikes to view and photograph the amazing flora and fauna of Victoria Island. What better way to enjoy time in the outdoors than with your family. Bring you wife and kids with you on an adventure they will never forget.

All in all it was a wonderful fishing season. We are already looking forward to next summer.

Muskox and Caribou Hunting Trips

The prehistoric Muskox date back before the ice age and have to be one of the hardiest of animals in the world to survive the harsh arctic winters. This makes them one of the most elite of north American animals to hunt. Our Muskox hunts begin around the 15th of August each year, right after the last week of our regular fishing packages. This year we had 32 muskox hunters that were able to experience the best of Arctic Sporthunting with five adding on an Arctic Island Caribou. All of our animal taken each year make SCI record book scores. The large numbers of Muskox on Victoria Island have allowed us to continue to enjoy a success rate of 100% since we first started carring out Muskox hunts in 1995. Our bowhunters and black powder hunters have always been successful.

Each year our Arctic Island Caribou make record books and some even gold medal with SCI. Most of our hunts are carried out by boat on the Merkley & Surrey Lake systems. With well over 400 miles of shoreline and thousands of Muskox in the area you are assured of an exciting hunt. Our hunts are fully guided and mostly 1X1 with Inuit guides. Dawn and I are also at the lodge during your hunt to ensure everything goes smoothly. We look forward to hosting your future Muskox hunt.
